Christine Barron
(9/05/1956, Birmingham, UK) With many years’ experience as a freelance musician, she enjoys an international reputation as a professional composer with over 1,000 compositions to date for orchestra, theatre, radio/television and Boosey & Hawkes Educational and Recorded Music catalogues. Well known in the UK and abroad for her innovative Composition and percussion workshops/masterclasses, including a Percussion Composition Masterclass for an Evelyn Glennie Award, she is the author of two comprehensive percussion books for the award-winning best selling ‘Learn as You Play’ series. These are: Learn As You Play drums and Learn as You Play Tuned Percussion & Timpani. She also hosts innovative composition and percussion workshops/masterclasses for Boosey & Hawkes and Schott Music and is now heavily involved in promoting her new book ‘Drum Styles Made Easy’.
Christine Berl
(born in New York City, resident in Italy). Her early studies were in piano with Paul Berl, accompanist of Victoria de los Angeles, and in Schenkerian theory and analysis with Ernst Oster. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in piano from Mannes College of Music in 1964, student of Nadia Reisenberg, and with a Master of Arts degree from Queens College in composition, New York City, student of Hugo Weisgall and George Perle. She has served as artistic consultant for Tirreno Records. Peter Serkin premiered her piece, "Lord of the Dance" in 1989 and played it again in 1990 at the 92nd Street Y Distinguished Artists Series (the piece was commissioned by him in 1989). She has received many important awards: Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society New York 1988 commissioned to write “Dark Summer” for Frederica von Stade; Bay Area Women’s Philharmonic San Francisco CA 1988 commissioned to write “The Violent Bear It Away” for full orchestra; Ninety-Second Street Y Distinguished Artists Series 1990, commissioned to write “Piano Sonata” for Andre Michel Schub and “Ballade” for cello and piano for Matt Haimovitz; Pierre Amoyal Lausanne1995 commissioned to write “Masmoudi” for violin and piano. Her works have been performed throughout the US and in Italy. Some works are published by Rugginenti Editore Milan Italy.

Christine K. Brückner
(13/06/1967, Hamburg) started playing the accordion at the age of nine, and the piano at the age of ten. From 1986 to 1992 she studied composition/music theory at the Hamburg Conservatory (Hamburger Musikhochschule). She also regularly took part in the Forum for young composers. And in 1990, 1992 and 1994, in connection with performances of her own music, she took part in the international "Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music". Since 1992 many of her pieces have been performed in festivals in or near Hamburg. "diamond way", a chamber opera, (composed between 1994 and 1996) was performed in the German translation 1999
in the "Kleine Szene" of the Semperoper Dresden, and also 1999 in the original English version in the Opera Kiel. In the last time she composed and performed music also for school-theater, for dance and theater and for bands, in which she plays accordion and piano. In her projects she always works with dancers, authors and performers.
