Alessandra Bellino
(Naples, 1970) Graduated in piano with ten, praise and special mention, in Composition with the maximum one of the votes near the National academy of Santa Cecilia (Rome) with Azio Corghi (President Luciano Berio) and in Musical Disciplines to Technological Address in Composition with 110/110 and praise. She also studed at the Accad. Musical Chigiana and with Ivan Fedele to Bari in 2005. Her works are performed in many countries including: MITO September Music, Festival of Belfort, Dissonanzen+SuonaFrancese, 58th Settimana Musicale Senese, NuovaConsonanza, Antidogma Musica, Project SONORA of the CEMAT - Proxima Centauri, Festival Nuovi Spazi Musicali, Tour Pacific Northwest Tour USA, Amici della Musica Firenze, Rèsonance Contemporaine, 5 ^ Cycle of Music Contemp. Buenos Aires, etc. and from prestigious orchestras which Orchestra Esacordo in Rome, Symphonic Orchestra of Castilla Y Leòn, Symphonic Orchestra of the Principality of Asturias, Symphonic Orchestra of Sanremo. Already winning of numerous International Contests of Composition, the International I° Competition of Composition MAGISTRALIA of Asturias for great symphonic orchestra of the International Music Prize for Exellence in Composition of Thessaloniki - Greece with National Academy of Music of the of Colorado-USA. She teaches at the Conservatory of Music of Benevento Italy. Her works are published by Rugginenti, Bèrben, ArsPublica, Ludo, Sconfinarte, Ut-Orpheus, recorded from Progetti Sonori of Pesaro-Urbino, MAP classical lira in Milan, Sconfinarte and CD Baby in Portland (USA) .
Alessandra Belloni
(Roma 4 luglio 1954), cantante, virtuosa di tamburello, ballerina, attrice. Trasferitasi giovanissima a New York ha studiato a l‟HB Studio, e con Dario Fo alla New York University, e canto con Michael Warren e Walter Blazer. E‟ fondatrice, insieme al chitarrista e compositore John La Barbera, dei “Giullari di Piazza”, una compagnia di musica, teatro e danza popolare dell‟Italia meridionale in residenza alla Cattedrale di St. John Divine di New York con la quale si è esibita in festival e in teatri in Nord America e in Europa. La Belloni si occupa di preservare e far conoscere le ricchezze e le tradizioni della cultura italiana. Da quasi trent‟anni svolge accurate ricerche etnomusicologiche e si è dedicata allo studio della tarantella/pizzica come danza di guarigione, soprattutto per le donne. E‟ riconosciuta come l‟unica donna percussionista specializzata nell‟uso dei diversi tipi di tamburi a cornice, uniti al canto e alla danza rituale. Ha imparato queste tecniche da Alfio Antico, il percussionista siciliano divenuto il simbolo del tamburo per l‟abilità nel creare atmosfere “magiche e primordiali”. Fin dal 1984 Alessandra Belloni ha preso parte alla festa di San Rocco a Torrepaduli, nel Salento, tradizionale evento estivo al suono dei tamburelli e delle pizziche. Negli Stati Uniti ha firmato con la grande industria di percussioni, Remo Inc., una serie intera di tamburi italiani, che reca il suo nome “Alessandra”. Organizza seminari di musica/danza terapia in Europa, negli Stati Uniti ed in Brasile. Scrive musica ispirata dalle sue ricerche etnomusicologiche: “Stabat Mater Donna de Paradiso”, “l‟Antico Ragno”, “Su Lillo Mio”, “Earth, Sun and Moon”, “Cantata dei Pastori”. Ha una ricca discografia con le sue composizioni e con le musiche originali per gli spettacoli della sua compagnia.
Antonella Barbarossa
Composer, and organist gained her diplomas in pianoforte, organ and composition at the Conservatorio Alfredo Casella dell‟Aquila and began a musical activity as performer and conductor in Italy and Abroad. She also followed master classes at the University of Toronto and in Italy (for electronic music and orchestration) with Franco Evangelisti and Nicola Costarella. At the same time she gained a degree in philosophy at the University of Salerno. She was professor of pianoforte at the Conservatory of Cosenza from 1976 until 1991, the year in which she became Director of the Conservatory of Vibo Valentia, a role that she still has together with that of Director of the Superior School of Music of the Polytechnic Internazionale Scientia et Ars di Vibo Valentia. She has received many honours and is also Artistic Director of the Concert Society of Cozenza and of the Cultural Association of Orte. In 2009 the Observatory of the European Parliament nominated her President of the Commission for the Rights of Men and Women within the Council of Europe. As a performer she has travelled throughout Europe presenting her own works and those of Bach, Franck, Liszt and Messiaen. She writes for chamber ensembles and for orchestra.
