Barbara Schneider Romen
Composer. She studied guitar, recorder and hammered dulcimer at the conservatories of Feldkirch and Innsbruck, and she teaches at the Söm Music School near Innsbruck. As a performer and improviser, she has given concerts at major festivals of contemporary music such as Wien Modern, Klangspuren Schwaz and the Osterfestival Innsbruck, as well as in the USA and Japan with various ensembles, particularly as part of a duet with her husband Gunter Schneider (latest CD: Traditional Alpine Music from the 22nd Century) and in various projects with visual artists: Klopfzeichen together with the printed graphics artists Michael Schneider, Miida Seiichiro and Isomi Teruo, and Tracking Stones ‘Voices –music for stone sculptures by Kassian Erhart. Since 2005 she has collaborated with choreographer Xavier Le Roy (on Mouvements für Lachenmann and on numerous world premieres). She also composes for the hammered dulcimer and the guitar.

Performances: concerts with Gunter Schneider at the festivals Klangspuren Schwaz and Wien Modern, at the Osterfestival Hall, Innsbruck and at the ORF RadioKulturhaus performance centers in Vienna and Innsbruck, “here comes the sun”, trio with Gunter Schneider and clarinetist KAI Fagaschinski at the festivals unlimited (Wels, 2007) and Kaleidophon (Ulrichsberg, 2008).

(born in 1975, in Czech Republic), composer. She studied composition with Frantisek Emmert at the Janacek Academy of Music (1994-2001).

Biétrix Schenk
(resident in France), composer. She studied acousmatic Art at the Conservatory of Lyon with the composers Denis Dufour, J.M..Duchenne, Ch. Maudot (Silver Medal in 1998). Her acousmatic art and video art are designed as visual and sound extensions of her choreographic research. She realizes her sound universe combining sounds, sound objects, text and voice. She designs shows of the Co. Schenk where she has been a choreographer since 1988 and has been moving towards the world of video frame since 1999. Her acousmatic pieces and videos are shown at various events.
