Bárbara Held
(American, resident Barcelona) Flutist and composer. Her work is the result of collaborations with choreographers (Nancy Zendora), visual artists (Francesca LLopis, Francisco Abad, Pedro Noguera), composers (Yasunao Tone, Jin Hi Kim, David Behrman, Robert Ashley, Ron Kuivila) and the Spanish National Orchestra, in the Concierto pastoral by Joaquin Rodrigo. She has recorded for numerous radio shows in America and Europe, and a new music CD for solo flute, edited by Lovely Music, and a CD ROM with Adolf Alcañiz and poets such as Carles Hac Mor and Esther Xargay.

Awards: "Paraparèmies; Desplaçaments; Cosificacions", was given the first prize for multimedia art by the 1999 Concurso de Creacion Audiovisual, Navarra, Spain, and the CD rom version of "The Well", a piece by Barbara Held and Adolf Alcañiz for flute and live video was awarded a mention at the Concours International de Musique et d'Art Sonore Electroacoustique de Bourges 2000.
