Zuriñe Gerenabarrena
(born in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, 1965) composer. She studied composition with Carmelo Bernaola at the Jesús Guridi Music Conservatory, (Vitoria-Gasteiz) and with Franco Donatoni, in Milan's "Scuola Civica". Orchestrator of several films, Gerenabarrena has written pieces for symphony orchestra and chamber ensembles as well as for the theatre, dance, animation, acousmatics work, sound installations and multidisciplinary shows, etc. She develops new aspects of creation based upon generation and manipulation using electronic means and mixed techniques, all this giving rise to different types of works such as musical drama, performances or sound installations. She currently combines composing with teaching harmony and counterpoint at the MUSIKENE- Higher Music School of the Basque Country (San Sebastián-Spain).
