Anastasia Guy

(Cyprus) composer of vocal, instrumental and orchestral music and also for the theater and documentary films. Her works on the subject "Music set to poetry" were presented at many important archaeological sites and theatres in Cyprus, Greece and other European countries. Her "Sounds, Words and Colors of Cyprus" was presented for the first time in 1999 at the Festival of Malta, at the ceremonial hall of Aristotle University of Thessaloniky and at the War Museum in Athens. In 2001, a serious collaboration with the University of Athens begins during the 11th Philological Seminar of Modern Greek Literature. With this opportunity, Anastasia Guy represents her creations in the Great Hall of the University of Athens every year. Her work on music set to poetry evolves into thematic units: "In the Moonlight", presented at the Ancient Kourion Theatre, at the 7th Festival of Simi, at the ancient Odium of Paphos, at Palamidi of Nafplio; "On the Rhymes of the Sea", at Rialto Theatre in Limassol, at the War Museum in Athens; "Nafs en Plo", during the 13th Philological Seminar of Modern Greek Literature of Cyprus. She is the founder of the Cyprus Wine Museum and the KINYRAS Cultural Organization.
Selected works: The Lyrical and Erotic Evagoras Pallikarides, performed for the first time in one concert in 2009 at Gloria Theater in Athens and then in 2005 to celebrate the "Evagoria" in Paphos and in the Great Hall of the University of Athens(14th Philological Seminar of modern Greek Literature of Cyprus); Saint Neophytos the Recluse, performed for the first time in 2009 and then in 2006, during the 15th Philological Seminar, in the Great Hall of the University of Athens, and in Katarina Kyrka in Stockholm; circle of songs Kynyras, Kipri and the Nereides, performed for the first tima at the Onsilos Theatre in Limassol. Music for theatre: Mama's Marijuana is the Best by Dario Fo for "Ethal"Theatre in Limasson (1999), Salamanis of Cyprus by George Seferis (2000), Los Don Perlimplin con Belisa en su jardin by Federico Garcia Lorca for "Theatre Ena"in Nicosia (2002).

Awards: In 2003 she was awarded with the Silver medal of Ioannis Kapodistrias on the subject "Music Set to Poetry of modern Greek Literature of Cyprus".
