Christine K. Brückner

(13/06/1967, Hamburg) started playing the accordion at the age of nine, and the piano at the age of ten. From 1986 to 1992 she studied composition/music theory at the Hamburg Conservatory (Hamburger Musikhochschule). She also regularly took part in the Forum for young composers. And in 1990, 1992 and 1994, in connection with performances of her own music, she took part in the international "Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music". Since 1992 many of her pieces have been performed in festivals in or near Hamburg. "diamond way", a chamber opera, (composed between 1994 and 1996) was performed in the German translation 1999
in the "Kleine Szene" of the Semperoper Dresden, and also 1999 in the original English version in the Opera Kiel. In the last time she composed and performed music also for school-theater, for dance and theater and for bands, in which she plays accordion and piano. In her projects she always works with dancers, authors and performers.
