Ylva Nyberg Betancor

(born in1967, Solna, resident Berlin/Germany), is a contemporary composer in the sound art field. She has always been interested in music. Her main instrument is piano but the expressions have been various. During her teens she led a rock band and also played reggae. Through studies in composition with Maurice Karkoff in Stockholm and Poul Ruders in Copenhagen, Nyberg Betancor began studying composition with Sven-David Sandström, Magnus Lindberg, Lars Ekström and Pär Lindgren at the Roayl College of Music in Stockholm in 1992 -2000. When composing. Nyberg Betancore strives for a balance between the controlled and the intuitive. She has written for various constellations and genres including electro acoustic music. Among her works X so this can be mentioned, which was written for the Norwegian dance company Open Dance and instrumented for Swedish keyed fiddle, flamenco guitar and percussion. Two other pieces are Som äpplen, Sanningar for mezzo soprano and ensemble and Skuggor och dagrar for solo accordion which are also are examples of her work written for the accordion, an instrument she frequently writes for. Her music has been broadcast on Swedish Radio.
