Myriam Alonso de Armiño Llanos

(born 1976 in Bilbao, Spain) composer and teacher. She studied violoncello (Diploma de Violoncello, 1999, Escuela Municipal de Música “Jesús Arambarri” Bilbao), piano (Título de profesor de piano, 1997, Conservatorio Superior de Música “Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga” Bilbao), composition (Título Superior de profesor de Armonía, contrapunto, composición e instrumentación) and music education (Título Superior de profesor de Solfeo, teoría de la musica, transposición y acompañamiento and the Título Superior de Profesor de Pedagogía musica, Conservatorio Superior de Música “Jesús Guridi” Vitoria, 2001). In 2003 she studied a postgraduate of Music Therapy in Vitoria (Instituto de Musicoterapia Música, Arte y Proceso). As a member of the Group of Contemporary Music Kuraia, she has developed an extensive work of creation and diffusion of music. After several years as teacher of piano, harmony, composition, music history and analysis in different centers, now is director, manager and creator of her own music center, located in Barakaldo (Vizcaya), called “Myriamusica”.

Awards: In 2000 she received a grant from the Diputación Foral de Vizcaya for a highly specialized course with George Crumb in Composition and Analysis in Locarno and Ascona (Switzerland). In 2001 she received the "subvención a la creación musical" issued by the Departamento de Cultura del Gobierno Vasco for the performance of his quintet Alkimia.

Mª. Lourdes Astrain Serrano

(born in San Sebastián, Spain, 1962) composer, researcher, conductor and pianist. She studied at the Conservatory of Music of San Sebastián where she obtained diplomas in piano and harmony, counterpoint and fugue, a degree in composition and instrumentation as well as a degree in music theory, transpose accompaniment and music theory and the title of singer. She was the first official conductor of choir and orchestra in Euskadi.

Awards: She was awarded with the first honorable mention and the second middle grade medal (1987) at the Conservatory of Music of San Sebastián and the second lyrical art medal (1987) at L'Ecole Nationale de Musique et Danse de Bayonne

 

Nejla Melike Atalay

Pianist, musicologist and composer, was born in 1985, Gelibolu, Turkey. After finishing her early education at Kayseri Anadolu Fine Arts High School Music Department, she attended to the Music Department of Erciyes University Fine Arts Faculty for a year. In 2003, she started to study at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State The conservatory Musicology Department, and worked on writing techniques, music history, traditional Turkish Music, Solfeggio, Harmony, Contemporary Music, Program production, and Cinema and Music. After graduating at 2008, she continued her education at Vienna Prayner conservatory composition department working with Josef Stoltz. There she also studied with Alfred Smudits on Music Sociology, Michele Calella on historical Musicology, Reinhard Kapp on Cinema and Music, and Andreas Holzer on Music and
Biography. Since 2009, she has been working on her doctoral thesis with Annegret Huber.
